  • Shayle Matsuda, 2014, Marine Biology graduate student – Trustee Emeritus Murray L. Galinson Scholar for extraordinary public service. Dr. Matsuda received his Ph.D. in Marine Biology from University of Hawaii at Manoa; he is currently a David H. Smith Conservation Research Fellow conducting postdoctoral research in reef biology at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago
  • Bryan Ovido Rojas-Araúz, 2013, College Counseling and Marriage, Family and Child Therapy graduate student – specially named AT&T Scholar. Dr. Rojas-Araúz received his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from University of Oregon
  • Marilyn Thomas, 2012, Public Health graduate student – Trustee Emeritus Ali C. Razi Scholar recognizing the top scoring recipient of the CSU Trustees’ Award for Outstanding Achievement. In 2016, Ford Foundation Predoctoral Fellow in Social Epidemiology. Dr. Thomas  is currently a Postdoctoral Scholar in Psychiatry at the UCSF Weill Institute for Neurosciences
