Program Purpose:
The Explorers Club grants were established to foster a new generation of explorers and build a reservoir of young persons dedicated to the advancement of knowledge about the world through discoveries made in field research. Grants are offered to students conducting individual scientific or exploration research projects through their academic institution under the supervisor of an instructor.
Program Benefits:
Awards typically range from $500-1,500. A few awards may be granted up to a $5,000 award level.
Application Process:
The applicant's instructor must write a letter of support.
Eligibility:
High school students and college undergraduates may apply.
Citizenship:
Any nationality.
Program Deadline:
Usually early November.
How To Apply:
Students or alumni, as applicable, may apply directly to this program. Applicants are encouraged, however, to work with SF State's fellowship advisor well in advance of the program deadline to perfect their application essays and other materials.
