Program Description:
The Explorers Fund Exploration Fund provides grants to undergraduate, graduate, and early career post-doctoral students, in support of exploration and field research for those just beginning their research careers.
Program Benefits:
The average award to undergraduates is $1,500; awards to graduate students average $2,500. A few awards may be granted up to a $5,000 level.
Application Process:
The supervising instructor must write a letter of support.
Eligibility:
Master's, doctoral, and recent post-doctoral students.
Selection Criteria:
The Explorers Club considers research proposals in a wide array of disciplines, including: Climate Change, Geoscience, Paleoclimate (i.e. Early Earth, Tectonics, Volcanism, Paleontology, Glaciology, Geophysics, Astronomy); Marine Science, Marine Biology, Marine Life, Fish, Coral, Ocean, Fresh Water, Rivers, Lakes, Estuaries; Anthropology/Archeology; Plants and Molds; Animals; Conservation Science.
Citizenship:
The program does not specify any citizenship requirements.
Program Deadline:
Usually early November.
