The goal of the Summer Undergraduate Program in Engineering Research at Berkeley - Information Technology for Sustainability (SUPERB-ITS) in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (EECS) Department is to prepare and motivate a group of diverse, competitive candidates for graduate study. Its research focus is computer science in the context of information technology for sustainability.
SUPERB-ITS participants spend nine weeks at UC Berkeley during the summer (June - August) working on exciting ongoing research projects in information technology with EECS faculty mentors and graduate students. Participants in this research apprenticeship gain exposure to a large research-oriented department, explore options and are motivated to pursue graduate study.
Students will be awarded a $4,000 Stipend. In addition to the stipend students will receive $600 for travel, and room and board at International House.
Program is open to students with or without prior research experience. Underrepresented students are encouraged to apply. An upward trend in grades is preferable.
U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
