Relevant Deadlines

IN 2024: March 15 to submit the online application.

Application Instructions

Applicants are strongly encouraged to meet with Campus Coordinator for feedback on their applicaton materials and to answer any questions they may have well in advance of the application deadline, and preferably no later than March 1.

March 15 Deadline

1. Navigate to the Smartsheet application for the current year by clicking on the red "Apply to CDIP" button" on the CSU CDIP page.

2. Fill out the application in one session and then "submit" your application. Before submitting, check the box, "send me a copy of my responses."

3. If you would like a pdf of the screenshots of fields and prompts the online application will ask you to fill out, and documents you will be required to upload, email Dr. Viveros at fellows1@sfsu.edu to request this.

4. In addition to demographic information, the online application will ask you to identify and provide contact information for your recommenders. One recommendation must be from your CSU CDIP Faculty Mentor. If you are currently enrolled in a doctoral program, the second recommendation must be from a faculty member at your doctoral institution. If you are not yet enrolled in a doctoral program, the second letter should be from a faculty member in your field at your current institution. 

5.  Once you have submitted your application, your recommenders will be asked to upload their recommendations.

6. In the last portion of the online application, you will be asked to UPLOAD ALL REQUIRED FILES--PDFs of: (1) your curriculum vitae; (2) Qualifications and Motivation Statement; (3) Collaborative Plan of Support — which you and your Faculty Mentor have collaboratively developed; (4) a CSU Faculty Position Announcement — provided to you by your Faculty Mentor,.

7. SUBMIT YOUR ONLINE APPLICATION on or before March 15 (11:59PM PST), by clicking on the "Submit" button.
