Program Description: 

APSA provides up to twelve fellowships each year for underrepresented students entering doctoral programs in political science who show promise to contribute to teaching and research in the field.

Program Benefits: 

Each fellow receives a $4,000 fellowship disbursed in two $2,000 payments: one at the end of first graduate year, and one at the end of second year. Additional applicants who do not receive funding may be recognized and recommended for admission to and financial support from graduate political science programs.

Eligibility: 

Awards are based on undergraduate course work, GPA, extracurricular activities, GRE scores, and faculty recommendations.

Citizenship: 

U.S. citizens only.

Program Deadline: 

Usually early October.

Students may apply directly to this program. San Francisco State applicants may seek the support of the Fellowships Office well in advance of the deadline for feedback on application essays and other materials.
